Total practice time: 1 hour

Total time vocalizing: 30 minutes

I listened to the recording of my first lesson and wrote down in greater detail all of the warm ups and vocalises we did. 

Warm ups:

-ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya 5 4 3 2 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1. Went up to Bb4, down to F#3.

-count breathing (although I'm not sure I'm doing the counts right...?)

-lip buzz 5 4 3 2 1

-1 3 5 8 8 8 5 3 1 ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey. He he he he he he he he he he. Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo. Did a "fresh face" before each one.

-lip buzz 1 5 1 sliding up and down

-count breathing (although I'm not sure I'm doing the counts right...?) As I did this, I had a belt around my thoracic region to monitor the expansion of my ribs and stay expanded throughout the exhalation until the release.

-laid down on the ground, soles of feet up, hey hee hah ho hoo. First time: slow. Second time: faster. Third: ha ha ha ha, hey hey hey hey, he he he he, ho ho ho ho, hoo hoo hoo hoo.

I listened to recordings of the three songs Maribeth sent me: Notre Amour, Toujours, and O del mio dolce ardor. I like the Italian, and I think I prefer Notre Amour over Toujours between the two French.

Voice Lesson 8/26   Warm ups: -ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya 5 4 3 2 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1 “dumb mouth” don’t worry about sounding good. Released, relaxed jaw.  Lessons are Wed, 12 to 1 Make sure to use better audio settings, it sounds like I am an alien,  Vocalises ziaaa 515151 Look in mirror and look for round and lift. Open back, espalda. Feel for lift. Don't open spout too fast or loud. Start practices  Bibebabo 3 times decrescendo, keep it spinning. Do a pianissimo exercise every practice. Pianissimo is in a different place, it is a falsetto feeling. Find ways to be mindful of this. ziiiiah 54321 fall into the resonance of the ah. Find ways to be mindful of jaw Always Vocalize a 3rd below performance note. Don't beat up voice but do it. zeeeaaa 13587531 up and connecting over. Beautiful round Ah. Not narrow and Nasal.
